Setting

The North is a lush and resource rich area, for those brave enough to endure the harsh cold, and temperamental weather. It starts at the Cliffs of Madness, a nearly impenetrable range of mountains that marks the southern boundary of the area. High peaks, terrible weather, and whistling winds rumored to drive listeners mad leave these mountains mostly untouched. Deep thick forests grow along and out from these mountains, as well as icy rivers that water the area. As the mountains approach the Eastern shore, forests give way to plains, and plains to coast line. Here are where most of the “cities” in the area conglomerate, taking the resources of the land and sailing them to distant shores, or just around the mountain range. In the middle of everything, dividing the North in two is the Magical Wastes, a region where many wizardly duals and wild magic have weakened the warp of reality. Venture far enough north, and you reach a land of solid ice, that if traveled long enough, gives way to Ocean once more.

The world has a long history that has largely been lost to Magical and Holy wars. At least twice, the gods have been trapped in flesh, and warred amongst themselves. These wars have left scars upon the world that need to be healed.
